Complimentary to our empty hand training intermediate level students at Verbeke Martial Arts Academy also have the opportunity to learn a separate curriculum of Okinawan weaponry (Budo Ka Renmei Ryu Kyu Kobudo) which includes training with the Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Nunchuku, Kama, Ieku (oar), and Nuntei Bo (spear). 

In contrast to many weapons programs this training is not intended to be a mere demonstration exercise. Through the practice of forms, basics, partner drills, and forms applications students learn to manipulate each weapon in a manner that is intended to develop natural movement and fighting competence.
